Hard for me personally to be upset about anything right now. After a tremendous weekend (got my car back, awesome holiday party with great friends, two great brunches, and I still got a lot of work done on my house) I have nothing to bitch about.

However, driving to Take the Cake for Brunch on Sunday (which was orgasmic by the way) I did a double take, then pulled back around the block so I could take a picture of this:

Looks like A Case of the Mondays came a day early for someone.

Monday Morning Granola: False Advertising Edition

Back to what the spirit of my Monday category is all about: me bitching about something.

Breakfast, I love it when I have time (weekends) and it’s almost non existent when I don’t (Mon-Fri). To keep the metabolism going (and because we all need some sustenance in the morning) a quick granola bar at home/on my walk to work/at my desk normally gets me through until my lunchtime feast. This past weekend I was at Home Depot (big surprise there) and I needed a few foodstuffs that I couldn’t/didn’t get at Findlay, so I drove over to the Meijer down the road. Any time I’m out shopping for non-perishables I pick up a box of granola bars, seeing as they disappear pretty quickly between my house and the office. I was delighted to change things up a little bit and stray from the generic Kroger chocolate chip or hard Nature Valley bars with what I thought would be tasty Meijer brand “candy coated chocolate chip” bars. Again, this is eyes-just-cracked, walking-out-the-door breakfast, so nothing fancy is in order and generic brand stuff is just fine. Besides, it makes whatever awesome breakfast I eat on the weekends, be it homemade or otherwise, that much better.

All that said, I chuckled a bit this morning at the difference between what the box showed I was purchasing, and what the actual product was like. I guess all the extra chips they show on the box were the ones they didn’t include on my granola bar.

Monday Morning Breakfast: Golden Eagle Style

I went to La Mexicana last Friday for lunch, a rare treat out I decided to splurge and go taco crazy. Barbacoa, pollo, and my favorite, birria, or as we call it, goat.

I stand by it being the most tender taco they serve, and the sauce (part of which is used for the barbacoa as well) is so damn tasty.

The real treat, however, is the fact that I don’t have to catch my goat from the side of a cliff like this crazy eagle does.

On the other hand, this is the most badass way to hunt your food. Get it scared and running, then THROW IT OFF A CLIFF!!!!

iPhone 4 vs Evo

If you know me, you know I’m a die hard Apple fan/dork. It’s been that way for a long time (as in, my Dad was selling Apple computers since before I can remember). All 4 members of my immediate family have an iPhone. My original phone lasted 3 years, and I just “upgraded” to a 3G (aka my Dad bought the 4 and gave me his old one). When the iPhone came out, it was revolutionary, but it’s hard not to admit that a lot of other manufacturers have caught up/surpassed many of the iPhone’s groundbreaking features.

Take the Evo for example. It seems like a pretty solid phone, and on paper its specs are pretty sweet. I don’t think that highly of AT&T or Sprint, so networks aside I could make a good case for switching over (even though I likely won’t).

Still, it gets me that there are people out there like the video below. This phone salesman sure does have a case of the Mondays with his bitch of a customer.

Monday Morning Nose Wheelie to 360 Stair Drop

I had a good friend (and his bike) who came in town this weekend. The plan was to give him a tour of Cincy, show him my new spot, and hit up some mountain biking trails. We got two out of the three, and instead of packing up the car and riding Idlewild we hit the concrete jungle. Frankly it was a great way to show off Cincinnati, and we hit damn near everything from the river to UC.

Instead of trails, it’s trials…..except we are nowhere near this good.
